INSPIRE Scholarships - After 12th Scholarship Program

 

 

“Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)” Scholarship. This is an innovative program sponsored and managed by the Department of Science & Technology for attraction of talent to science. The basic objective of INSIPRE is to communicate to the youth of the country the excitements of creative pursuit of science, attract talent to the study of science at an early age and thus build the required critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system and R & D base.

A striking feature of the programme is that it does not believe in conducting competitive exams for identification of talent at any level. It believes in and relies on the efficacy of the existing educational structure for identification of talent.

 

INSPIRE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria.

·       Meritorious Student from Class 12 who is pursing Science Majors.

·       The candidate should be 17-22 years old

·       The candidate should be amongst the top 1% in the 12th-grade examination

·       The candidates who are amongst the top 10,000 rank holders in JEE and have opted for Natural and Basic Sciences are eligible

·       The candidates admitted into Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS) at the University of Mumbai and are pursuing courses in Natural/ Basic Sciences are eligible

·       The candidates who are KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Olympiad Medallists and Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholar and are pursuing courses in Natural/ Basic Sciences are eligible.

INSPIRE Scholarship Reward and Benefits.

·       INR 80,000 will be given to the selected students

·       An annual scholarship of INR 60,000 will be provided at INR 5000 per month

·       The selected candidates will also receive INR 20,000 for undertaking a mandatory summer research project.
